Moneta Markets Eyes Proprietary Trading Launch, Begins Hiring for General Manager in Dubai
Moneta Markets, a global CFD brokerage firm, is taking strategic steps toward entering the proprietary trading space. The company has initiated the recruitment process for a General Manager to lead a new prop trading division, signaling that the project is in its final development phase.
In a recent statement shared on LinkedIn, Moneta Markets’ CEO and Founder, David Bily, confirmed that the firm is “nearly ready” to roll out its prop trading product. The role of General Manager will be instrumental in building out the operation—overseeing recruitment, managing daily business functions, and scaling the new venture into what the company describes as a “fierce industry competitor.”
Dubai Chosen as Operational Base
The upcoming prop trading arm will be based in Dubai, where Moneta Markets has already established a footprint through a partnership with Sterling Financial Services, a firm regulated by the UAE’s Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA).
Commenting on the strategic location, Bily emphasized Dubai’s global relevance in financial services:
“Dubai is a global business hub with a robust financial ecosystem and strategic geographic location, making it an ideal choice for our expansion,” he said. “Being in Dubai also positions us to tap into the rapidly growing financial markets in the Middle East and North Africa region.”
Strengthening MENA and Asian Expansion
This move aligns with Moneta Markets’ broader expansion strategy across emerging markets. Alongside the Dubai announcement, the firm recently introduced a suite of localized products tailored to MENA clients—adding to its existing offering of over 1,000 instruments including forex pairs, indices, commodities, share CFDs, cryptocurrencies, bonds, and ETFs.
Further supporting its MENA operations, Moneta Markets appointed Fadi Reyad as Chief Market Strategist for the region earlier this year. Additionally, the broker has expanded its Southeast Asian presence by onboarding a dedicated Malaysian team, reinforcing its long-term ambitions to establish a stronghold in high-growth areas.
This move aligns with Moneta Markets’ broader expansion strategy across emerging markets. The firm’s decision to base its proprietary trading operation in Dubai follows a growing industry trend of brokers establishing a presence in the UAE to tap into the region’s dynamic financial environment. For example, Eightcap recently secured regulatory approval from the UAE’s SCA and launched operations in Dubai, underscoring the market’s increasing relevance for global trading firms.
