Wonderinterest Review
Wonderinterest is a broker that holds one first-class license and offers the industry’s most popular trading platform, MetaTrader 5 (MT5). The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) license means that the company behind Wonderinterest, which also operates other brands, meets fairly high regulatory requirements for financial stability, transparency and good business practices. However, everything else about this financial services provider is very questionable.
Information on trading parameters is vague, incomplete and contradictory. The trading price seems absurdly high for most tradable instruments. The minimum deposit is also very high, in addition to there being at least four different versions of its exact size. Payment methods are limited to credit/debit card and bank transfer only. The broker does not offer educational materials, adequate information resources or additional tools.
Wonderinterest appears to be focused on markets in central Europe, judging by the languages in which the website is available and by the advertising that some of the profits are going to reforestation projects in that region. But no matter how environmentally conscious you are, Wonderinterest does not give you any good reason to use this broker for your investments in the financial markets.
Wonderinterest Licenses and Regulation
When evaluating a forex broker, the most critical piece of information to verify is the broker’s licensing and regulatory status. The licenses a broker holds determine whether you, as a potential client, can legally trade with them based on your country of citizenship or residence. The regulatory framework under which the broker operates outlines their obligations to both clients and regulatory bodies. This framework establishes the guarantees and protections in place for traders’ funds, such as segregation of client funds, participation in compensation schemes, and adherence to financial stability requirements. Additionally, the regulatory environment also dictates the restrictions imposed on trading conditions for retail clients, including leverage limits, margin requirements, and risk disclosures.
Licensing is a key indicator of a broker’s credibility and reliability. Brokers regulated by well-known authorities such as the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the UK, the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC), or the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) must adhere to stringent standards designed to protect traders. These standards include maintaining a certain level of capitalization, conducting regular audits, and ensuring transparent business operations.
The jurisdictional regulatory requirements also influence the level of investor protection and the broker’s operational transparency. For instance, brokers under the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) are subject to strict rules on leverage caps, negative balance protection, and the mandatory participation in investor compensation funds, which provide additional security to traders.
Moreover, a broker’s regulatory status can affect the range of financial products they are allowed to offer and the trading conditions they can provide. For example, regulatory bodies may impose limits on the maximum leverage available to retail traders or restrict certain high-risk trading practices, such as binary options trading or certain promotional activities.
In this context, Wonderinterest should be considered a reliable broker because the company behind it, Wonderinterest Trading Ltd, holds a Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) license. This company manages another forex broker, Zetano, the review of which you can read here. The two brands share not only the license, but also many other features and functionalities, most of which are essentially flaws and will be discussed in more detail in this review.

Many forex and CFD brokers operating within the European Union choose Cyprus as their base due to the island’s well-developed financial and accounting infrastructure. This strategic decision has elevated the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) to one of the most significant and competent financial regulators globally. A CySEC license allows companies to offer their services throughout the European Economic Area (EEA).
Forex and CFD brokers in the EU are primarily regulated under the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID II) and the Markets in Financial Instruments Regulation (MiFIR). These regulations set forth rigorous standards, requiring brokers to meet capital adequacy requirements and participate in investor compensation funds.
The main objectives of these regulations are to ensure transparency and protect investors. This includes mandatory disclosures about the nature and risks associated with CFD products and the requirement for brokers to submit regular reports on their financial health. These reports must include audits of their financial statements and details of their risk management procedures.
Forex brokers are required to maintain a base capital ranging from €50,000 to €730,000, depending on their risk exposure and the types of financial instruments they handle. This capital is essential for managing various risks, including market, credit, and operational risks, and must be adjusted as necessary to ensure brokers can meet their immediate financial obligations and operate effectively under stress.
EU regulations are also designed to safeguard individual retail customers. This protection includes caps on the amount of leverage retail investors can use, set at 1:30 for major currency pairs and lower for other asset classes, thus reducing potential losses from volatile market movements. Current EU regulations also prohibit licensed brokers from offering bonuses and promotions to attract and retain clients.
Additionally, EU retail traders benefit from guaranteed negative balance protection, ensuring they cannot lose more money than they have deposited in their accounts. Licensed brokers must participate in investor compensation schemes that protect investors if a forex broker becomes insolvent or ceases trading. These schemes ensure that covered clients can recover a portion of their funds—up to €20,000 per investor. All retail investors and small businesses are typically eligible for compensation if they cannot recover their funds due to a broker’s failure.
Although a CySEC licence allows a broker to operate throughout the EU market, it is not usual for a broker to hold only one licence. In most cases, brokers also maintain an offshore company, which allows them to serve clients from a very large number of jurisdictions in Asia, Africa and other regions with much lower capital requirements and more favourable tax and regulatory regimes.
Wonderinterest Trading Software
Wonderinterest clients have only one choice for trading software – the MetaTrader 5 (MT5) platform. MT5 is a comprehensive trading platform developed by MetaQuotes Software, designed to cater to a broad range of financial markets including forex, stocks, commodities, and futures. Launched in 2010, MT5 builds on the success of its predecessor, MetaTrader 4 (MT4), by offering a range of enhanced features and functionalities aimed at professional traders. Here are the detailed aspects of the MetaTrader 5 platform:

MT5 supports trading across various financial instruments, making it a versatile platform for traders who wish to diversify their portfolios. Unlike MT4, which primarily focuses on forex trading, MT5 allows users to trade in several markets from a single account, including stocks, commodities, and futures.
MT5 offers advanced charting capabilities and a comprehensive set of technical analysis tools. Key features include:
- 21 Timeframes: Traders can analyze price movements over a wide range of periods, from one-minute to one-month intervals.
- 80+ Technical Indicators and Analytical Tools: The platform comes with more than 80 built-in technical indicators and tools for in-depth market analysis.
- Graphical Objects: Traders can use various graphical objects such as lines, channels, geometric shapes, and arrows to mark up charts and forecast future price movements.
- Multiple Charts: Users can open up to 100 charts simultaneously, enabling extensive analysis and comparison of different instruments.
One of the standout features of MT5 is its Market Depth functionality, which shows the price quotes from different market participants in real-time. This feature is particularly useful for day traders and those using scalping techniques, as it provides detailed information on price depth and liquidity at different levels.
The platform’s interface is highly customizable, allowing traders to configure charts, toolbars, and windows according to their preferences. This flexibility ensures a personalized trading environment that meets the needs of individual traders.
MT5 supports a variety of order types and execution modes, offering greater flexibility in trading strategies:
- Order Types: Market orders, pending orders (Buy Stop, Sell Stop, Buy Limit, Sell Limit), and stop orders (Stop Loss, Take Profit, Trailing Stop).
- Execution Modes: Market, Instant, Request, and Exchange execution modes cater to different trading strategies and market conditions.
MT5 supports advanced algorithmic trading through its built-in development environment, MetaEditor, and the MQL5 (MetaQuotes Language 5) programming language. MQL5 is more powerful and efficient than MQL4, allowing for faster execution and more complex trading strategies. Key features include:
- Expert Advisors (EAs): Automated trading systems that execute trades based on predefined conditions.
- Custom Indicators and Scripts: Traders can develop custom technical indicators and scripts to enhance their trading strategies.
- Strategy Tester: The multi-threaded strategy tester supports backtesting on historical data, multi-currency, and multi-timeframe testing. It also allows for optimization of trading strategies.
MT5 has an integrated economic calendar that provides real-time information on economic events and indicators. This feature helps traders stay informed about potential market-moving events and make timely trading decisions. MT5 offers built-in trading signals and copy trading features, allowing users to subscribe to signals from successful traders and automatically replicate their trades. This social trading aspect enhances the platform’s appeal to both novice and experienced traders. MT5 provides detailed reports on trading activity, including comprehensive account statements, trade history, and performance analytics. These reports help traders analyze their trading performance and make informed decisions. MT5 employs robust security measures to ensure the safety of traders’ data and transactions. It uses 128-bit encryption to protect data exchange between the client terminal and the platform’s servers. Additionally, it supports RSA digital signatures for enhanced security.
MT5 has a strong community and extensive resources such as free indicators, expert advisors, scripts, and community forums where traders can share strategies and tools. The MetaTrader Market offers a wide range of trading applications, from indicators to robots, available for purchase or rent.
MT5 is available on various devices and operating systems, ensuring traders can access their accounts and manage trades on the go. The desktop applications are available for Windows, macOS, and Linux, and the mobile apps are available for iOS and Android, allowing traders to manage their accounts from smartphones and tablets. There is also a browser-based version of the platform that can be accessed from any internet-connected device without the need to install software. This broker only offers the desktop and web versions of the MT5 platform, but not the mobile apps. Wonderinterest offers its own mobile app, which is very basic, but has functionality for placing orders.

Since MT4 and MT5 use different programming languages, scripts written for one platform cannot automatically be used with the other. This is one of the reasons many brokers continue to offer the older MT4 alongside the more advanced MT5. There are other advanced trading platforms with comparable functionality for automated trading and backtesting of strategies, such as cTrader.
Taking full advantage of MT5’s automated trading capabilities requires scripts to function reliably 24/7. The most secure way to achieve this is through a Virtual Private Server (VPS), which allows automated processes to be independent of the trader’s personal hardware and internet connection. Some brokers offer their own VPS services or work with third-party providers, providing a free VPS for more active clients. But Wonderinterest does not offer VPS and broker clients must choose their own third-party provider of such service.
Wonderinterest Account types and trading conditions
Wonderinterest allows the creation of multiple Demo and Live Accounts, which in the case of this broker is somewhat pointless because there is no variety of combinations of account types, base currencies and trading platforms to be tested. The only base currency account option is USD, the only trading platform is MetaTrader 5, and the only pricing method is the standard one where the client only pays the spread.
The demo account is valid for 30 days. Registration of a live account requires completion of a detailed questionnaire on personal details, origin of funds, financial trading experience, and verification of identity and residency by providing relevant documents.
Most brokers offer a choice between this standard account type and ECN account types where the client pays a raw spread, which can be as low as zero, but combined with a fixed commission per lot traded. Zero or raw spread accounts are preferred by higher volume and professional traders. Some brokers also offer Cent and Micro Accounts, which are aimed at beginner traders with low capital.
Wonderinterest offers different types of accounts, but they are entirely focused on the main gimmick of this broker – that it cooperates with reforestation projects. This can be seen in the names of the account types – Coal, Water, Solar, Nuclear and Fusion. According to the advertisement on the website, the broker is collaborating with Sázíme Česko, My Forest and Zelené Slovensko reforestation projects, and will plant a number of trees depending on the size of your deposit – 5 for Coal, 10 for Water, 20 for Solar, 50 for Nuclear and 100 for Fusion.

The stated minimum deposits are absurdly high – 50,000 USD for Coal, 100,000 for Water, 250,000 for Solar, 500,000 for Nuclear and 1,000,000 for Fusion. The fact that this translates to 10,000 USD per tree planted is not the main problem. The first obvious problem is that these requirements are too high – the usual minimum deposits required by the industry are between 50 and 500 USD. The second is that we don’t actually know what the required minimum deposit is because we find several different versions on the website. In the FAQ section of the website it states that the minimum deposit is 1000 USD. In the “trading conditions” subsection it mentions a minimum deposit of 250 USD, but when using wire transfer. The information on payment methods states that the minimum deposit is 1000 USD by bank transfer and 500 USD by credit/debit card.
Tradable instruments offered by Wonderinterest include CFDs on forex, commodities, indices and equities as well as physical shares. The broker does not list cryptocurrency trading on its website, but the MT5 platform includes Bitcoin.
The account descriptions themselves do not include specific information about the trading parameters as you will find on the websites of established brokers. These descriptions claim that the broker offers two trading platforms, but this is not true unless you are referring to the desktop and web versions of MT5.
The account type descriptions only state that each higher tier has lower spreads than the previous tier – Water has 20% lower spreads than Coal, Solar has 45% lower spreads than Water, Nuclear has 65% lower spreads than Solar and Fusion has 75% lower spreads than Nuclear. This is as ambiguous as it is unusual.
In the separate trading conditions subpage we see a statement that spreads start at 3 pips. This is more than double the usual industry level and is very disadvantageous to the trader. Such a trade cost is not even worth a 500 USD deposit, let alone 50,000.
Things are not getting clearer in the trading platform – on the contrary, they are getting more confusing. Wonderinterest does not have a separate Demo server for the MT5 platform, so with our Demo account we logged into the only live trading server, which implies that the spreads we saw are the real ones.
Our habit is to first look at the spread for the benchmark currency pair EUR/USD. This spread in the Wonderinterest platform was only 0.5 pips, which is actually extremely profitable and competitive if not coupled with additional commissions. But for all other major currency pairs, we saw a spread of not 3 pips, but 13 pips – far exceeding any reasonable levels. At this point, we began to doubt that Wonderinterest is a legitimate broker despite having a first-class license.
There is no information on leverage levels on the website, but for a broker licensed by CySEC these parameters are set by the EU regulatory framework. The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) and accordingly all EU regulators limit leverage to 1:30 for major currency pairs, 1:20 for non-major pairs, gold and major indices, 1:10 for other commodities and non-major indices.
EU regulations allow traders with significant capital and experience in financial trading to acquire professional client status. Licensed forex brokers can offer such clients higher leverage and other preferential terms. But this particular broker does not appear to offer any special terms to professional clients.
Another parameter that is disappointing to say the least is the extremely high inactivity fee. This Maintenance Fee is activated after only one month of inactivity, which is an extremely short period of time. The amount of the fee is vaguely defined – ‘up to EUR 89 or equivalent’. As stated, Wonderinterest actually provides only one base currency option, the US dollar.
Wonderinterest Deposit and Withdraw Methods
The Wonderinterest also continues to disappoint in terms of the payment methods you can use to make deposits and withdrawals. There are only two deposit options – Bank Transfer and Credit/Debit Card. Withdrawal options are even more limited – such a transaction can only be made via bank transfer.

Most brokers allow deposits and withdrawals at the very least with popular e-wallets such as PayPal, Skrill and Neteller. Leading brokers typically support transactions through region-specific payment processors, and often offer unconventional options such as cryptocurrencies. While it may be assumed that every potential client of this EU operating broker has a bank account and some type of debit or credit card, these payment methods have limitations and features that may make them unpreferred depending on client preferences and needs.
As already pointed out, there are uncertainties as to what is the minimum deposit required by the Wonderinterest. The information on payment methods indicates that bank transfer requires a minimum deposit of EUR 1 000 and deposit by credit/debit card EUR 500. These levels are too high even for an initial deposit, let alone a single transaction minimum. There is also a maximum deposit limit of EUR 10,000 when using credit/debit cards.
Deposits by bank transfer are unlimited. The broker states that it does not require a minimum withdrawal amount, but does not specify if there is a maximum.
Wonderinterest assures that it does not charge transaction fees, which is common practice in the industry. But given all the other controversies and uncertainties surrounding this broker, we can’t be completely confident that this is true.
According to the legal documentation, the depilated funds must arrive in the customer’s account within one business day. The broker promises the same processing time for withdrawal requests if all conditions are met. But Wonderinterest warns that international bank transfers can take up to 2-5 days.
The broker’s legal documentation includes standard language related to anti-money laundering guidelines. These include a prohibition on using third-party accounts for transfers to and from trading accounts. Another standard requirement is that you are required to withdraw your money back into the same account that was originally used to deposit the money. However, the documents do not specify how withdrawals from an account that has made deposits via credit/debit cards are treated since there is no such withdrawal option.
| Deposit method | Minimum | Maximum | Processing time | Fee |
| Bank | $1000 | Unspecified | up to 24 hours | Free |
| Credit/Debit Card | $500 | $10000 | up to 24 hours | Free |
| Withdrawal method | Minimum | Maximum | Processing time | Fee |
| Bank | Unspecified | Unspecified | up to 3 days | Free |
Wonderinterest Tools and Education
Wonderinterest is not allowed to offer bonuses, promotions and prize games because the regulations for brokers licensed in Cyprus and the EU do not allow it. Unlike most other brokers Wonderinterest does not have a subdivision in an offshore jurisdiction through which it can offer bonuses and higher leverage.
But regulatory constraints cannot serve to excuse the Wonderinterest for offering almost no information resources and additional tools. The Wonderinterest offers absolutely no educational materials. Most brokers offer at a minimum a glossary and articles on the basics of forex trading. Often on the websites of established brands you will find a large number of high quality educational resources including video tutorials, e-books, webinars and more.
Wonderinterest maintains a blog and a market analysis section, but the articles are few and cannot serve active traders who need detailed and timely information when making investment decisions.
The broker does not offer technical and fundamental analysis, trading signals and other research resources. You won’t find the usual industry ancillary tools like forex calculators and an economic calendar on the website either.
However, Wonderinterest advertises that it offers Autochartist, one of the most popular third-party tools for the MetaTrader 5 (MT5) platform. Autochartist uses advanced algorithms to analyze real-time and historical price data, identifying key technical patterns such as triangles and channels and does this 24/7. It provides you with insights into price volatility and helps you to mitigate risks ensuring your trading is safe and responsible. By automating the pattern recognition process, Autochartist saves traders significant time that would otherwise be spent manually analyzing charts. The tool’s sophisticated algorithms and real-time scanning improve the accuracy of market analysis, helping traders make more informed decisions. With its volatility analysis and risk calculator, Autochartist helps traders manage their risk more effectively, which is crucial for long-term trading success. By providing insights into market patterns and their historical performance, Autochartist serves as a valuable educational resource for traders looking to enhance their technical analysis skills. But there are far more credible and trustworthy brokers where you can make the most of this and other instruments.
Notes from the author:
It is puzzling to come across a forex broker who seems to be doing everything possible to scare away potential clients. But it happens, as two of the brands fitting this description are run by the same company - Wonderinterest Trading Ltd. This is all the more puzzling when you consider that this company is not some obscure offshore company, but holds a first-class regulatory licence that requires significant capital and administrative resources.
Because of the existence of such a license, we could not say that Wonderinterest was some kind of fraud, but neither could we say that it represented a credible broker. The whole Wonderinterest gimmick that investments through this broker will help offset your personal carbon footprint seems very unconvincing. Things become even more unconvincing when you see that this supposed environmental program requires you to invest 10,000 USD in order for just one tree to be planted on your behalf. There are much more effective ways to help reforest, and there are definitely more efficient ways to trade in the financial markets.
Wonderinterest offers the MetaTrader 5 (MT5) platform, which also suggests some credibility, but this impression evaporates when we see the ridiculously high spreads for most financial instruments. Combined with the unclear but undoubtedly high minimum deposit, the missing or contradictory information on basic trading parameters, the high inactivity fees, and all the other irregularities surrounding this broker, there really is no reason to trust your investments to Wonderinterest .
